For the most accurate idea of what it will cost to fix your PC, bring it in for our famous FREE ESTIMATE!

We can evaluate your PC at our check-in desk to offer a quick analysis of what the problem may be, at no charge, BUT if you check your PC in for further testing, diagnostics, repairs, etc., THE MINIMUM SERVICE CHARGE WILL APPLY.

Minimum Shop Fee/Basic Repair Jobs

This charge applies for ALL JOBS THAT GO INTO OUR SHOP, that involve one hour or less, and WILL APPLY against the final service charges (in other words if you opt to have the wipe/reload done your total would just be $90.00, NOT $90.00 + $60.00). The Minimum Service Charge will apply EVEN IF YOU DECIDE NOT TO HAVE THE REPAIRS DONE.

Cost: $60.00

Wipe/Reload

This service includes completely formatting the hard drive and reloading original Windows Operating System (provided by the customer) and the drivers for the sound, video, modem, and all other internal hardware in the PC. This charge does NOT include time required if data files are to be backed up and saved (pictures, music, data, etc.). See “Data Backup.” This also does not include installing your software (games, word processors, photo editors, etc.). We WILL however provide and install anti-virus and Spyware remove programs included in this charge.

Spyware/Virus Removal (Advanced System Cleanup)

Spyware and virus issues are very time-consuming problems, even for an experiences pc technician. The simplest and BEST fix is a Complete Format and Reload of the windows operating System (see “Wipe/reload). BUT, if we are requested to fix Spyware and Virus issues on your PC System, and must retain all your system settings, programs, and data files, etc. OUR SERVICE RATE FOR THIS TYPE OF JOB IS A FLAT RATE OF $150.00. If we spend our time to try to fix these issues, there is still no guarantee that we can completely correct all issues, and there is no guarantee that the issues might re-occur in the near future. The only way to GUARANTEE that your system is free of viruses/Spyware is do perform a wipe/reload. If we determine then that we must wipe and reload the system we will charge a maximum of $90.00 for the work.

Sometimes in order to properly service your computer the hard drive must be erased. If we are requested to save and restore your data files (such as pictures, documents, music, etc.) we must charge the following additional rates based on how much data is involved. Data to be backed up must be stored in one central location (such as the “My Documents” folder). You need to know what you want backed up and where it is located before having your system serviced. We cannot spend time sorting out your files, finding your files, or thinning out your files with you. It is your responsibility to have your files organized and ready to be backed up ahead of time. We CANNOT, backup programs (games, word processors, photo editors). Programs must be reinstalled from their original CDs. If you request that we re-install your programs, games, printer/scanner software, etc, there will be charges of $15.00 for each of those software items. The rates below include temporary copying your data to our secure shop server while your system is being serviced, the copying the data back to your computer for you. All data backed up is also scanned for viruses to insure you are not re-infected

'Level One' Data Backup/Recovery

This service includes up to 1GB of data backed up, then recovered to your system as stated above.

Cost: $35.00

This service includes up to 9.4GB of data backed up, then recovered to your system as stated above.

Cost: $85.00

This service is for each additional increment of 9.4GB of data backed up, then recovered to your system as stated above.

Cost: $55.00

*requires purchase of 'level two' Data Backup/Recovery first

This service ONLY applies to copying a COMPLETE copy of a hard drive to another hard drive. The file structure (FAT16, FAT32, NTFS, etc) and Windows Operating System (Windows 98, Windows XP, etc) must copied and cannot be changed or converted for this charge. This is NOT the same as copying individual data files, folders, etc. From one drive to another – that process is much more involved and described in “Data Backup/Recovery.” This service does not include the cost of the drive the data is being copied to. An equal or larger hard drive must be purchased separately from Affordable Computers at the time of service.
